The floor sunk right in the middle of the bowling alley, spanning nearly 800 square feet.
Since the bowling alley was closed during the pandemic, the owner called on our expertise to correct a major problem with the floor. In total, nearly 800 square feet of floor had sunk right in the middle of the establishment. A 3″ by 15′ dip could be seen from the entrance.
Aware of the exorbitant cost and delays to break up and redo the concrete slab, the owner needed a simple, fast and low-cost solution. Thanks to GeoFix, as soon as bowling alleys got the OK from the government to open back up, the Roussillon alley was able to reopen without worrying about an uneven floor.

LIFTING A SIDEWALK WITH A NEGATIVE SLOPE
The sidewalk of the strip mall on Avenue de l’Abbé-Théoret in Sainte-Julie had a big problem.
It had a negative slope (toward the buildings), causing water to accumulate and infiltrate the shopping centre. A total of 250’ of sidewalk 8’ wide were raised by more than 4” on the façade side. The work only took two days and none of the stores had to close during this time. Thanks to GeoFix, the store owners avoided all the hassle and delays of the concrete having to be broken and redone.

LIFTING A CONCRETE FLOOR
New buildings are not immune to human error and the whims of Mother Nature!
During the construction of this school, the concrete floor was poured on frozen backfill. In the spring, the backfill partially retreated, creating voids under the slabs and causing some of the slabs to sink into the ground. After conducting a scan, all of the affected areas were gridded to determine where to inject the polymer. All the work was carried out in less than four days, restoring the structural integrity of the brand-new school’s concrete floor. The client was very pleased with the substantial cost savings.

STABILIZING A SLAB
Significant stabilization work was carried out at Viau Food Products.
A void under the slab was causing it to move, creating a hazardous situation when forklifts drove over it. Polymer injections had to be made in a sensitive area and GeoFix made sure 100% of the dust generated when drilling the holes was eliminated at the source. The stability problem was quickly resolved and none of the plant’s operations had to be stopped at any time.
